Information for Prospective Models
Hello there, IF YOU'VE responded to a listing for models, this link offers some information designed to help you figure out if you're the right person to work with me. I do fine art portraiture photography. Whether you work dressed, partly dressed or nude is entirely up to the individual model. I am comfortable working in any mode. The work may be used in gallery exhibitions, books and on the Internet, including for fictional projects. In other words, your image may be developed into a fictional character. All photo sessions are preceded by one meeting, which is a casual interview. You may bring a friend to this meeting. There, you can share something of your motivation to do modeling work, your experience and your intentions for the future. You can also ask me any questions you may have. In this first session I may, with your consent, take a small number of test photos to see how you appear on film. This will take about 10 minutes. Subsequent sessions take one to two hours. I generally prefer to work in the morning between 8 and 10 am but I can accommodate other times. Sessions are conducted without an assistant or other parties present. We will work one-to-one, unless it is a session with multiple subjects -- which would be pre-arranged. Because I am a professional photographer, models sign what is called a model release, granting me permission to photograph them and allowing me to use the photos in different artistic projects. You will need to bring several forms of identification, so that I can attach that to your model release. These are to establish your age and identity beyond any question. After the test session, you will be paid a starting fee of $50 to $100 per session. If we work over several sessions, the fee will vary depending on your level of talent and commitment. You need to be 18 or older to work with me, though I discourage models under 21 years of age. If, however, you feel you are exceptionally mature and clear-headed, you may contact me and we can set up an initial interview. I welcome photo subjects up to any age, particularly in the 30-50 range, of all body types. Please do not wear makeup to the session; please bring the proper color foundation for your complexion. If you are planning to work nude or topless, please do not wear a bra -- it will leave marks on your body that will affect the photos. If you are a professional or aspiring professional model or actor, I can assist you setting up your portfolio. This type of project would be on a different pay basis, which we would discuss in the first meeting. If you feel confident with these ideas, please contact me using the contact page. Thank you for your interest in my work, and I look forward to meeting you. Very truly yours, |
