 Carlos Solórzano Smith

Carlos is a resident of Florida, native of Venezuela. His illustration work, created in both non-electronic electronic media, spans from the sublime to the macabre to the otherworldly. He seems to be equally at home painting inner landscapes as he is painting aliens. His airbrush work, used with the annual horoscope pages, conveys the feeling of immediacy, movement and rare opportunity of our current days, not to mention their strange beauty.

He has degrees in Commercial Art and Photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and The Design Institute of Caracas, Venezuela. Carlos has taught numerous workshops and seminars in drawing, painting and photography both in Venezuela and the US. He also has an extensive exhibition history in Venezuela, Washington, D.C. and Florida. His influences are H.R. Giger, Borges, Zappa, Eno and Krishnamurti. He prefers to use the airbrush, pencil and pen and ink as his media.

You may visit his homepage at this link, and email him here. We welcome him to Planet Waves.
