Astrology teaches us that we are not alone in the universe, and, even better, that the universe is not alone because we're here to keep it company. Astrology is always works best when change is happening so fast that we don't quite know what to think. That's certainly true now. For a lot of reasons we're also under enormous pressure to be true to ourselves in our relationships, and to maintain an active connection to Spirit. The energy of our world is quickening, it's becoming lighter and we now agree there's more to reality than the physical plane. Thank God for miracles.

September Monthly Horoscope

And now for an endorsement for a free service. For more than a year I've been getting Planet Forecast readings from StarIQ.com, which are transit reports keyed directly to your natal chart. They come by email, a few a week, depending on the week. They are excellent. To sign up free, use this link.

Sign dates below are approximate. They now overlap by one day -- this is the day the Sun changes signs in 2001. The date and time of the Sun's ingress to the new sign changes a little each year, so check with an astrologer if you want the exact positi of your Sun. The reason for this is that our calendar is still not accurate, or rather, natural.

Aries (March 20-April 21)
We live in the time of Revelation. Ask any Christian kid. Or look at the newspapers: there are Earth changes, political changes, and strange biological and scientific changes that threaten life. But the real revelation is the one you are having in your mind, or in reality, your Soul. The only thing it threatens is that which is false, harmful or in the way. This is true of all revelations, however. They are gentle processes that reveal truly profound and life-changing information, gently and directly. But this is very personal.

Taurus (April 21-May 20)
You can proceed from the deeper certainty that your most basic needs are taken care of, but I speak mainly of emotional needs. It doesn't matter whether there is someone in your life with whom you can share your inner feelings. You have attained a level of self-sufficiency that is making the rest of what you may be facing a lot easier. It's worth wondering: why didn't you feel this way before?

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
The keynote of this era of your life is learning how not to be afraid of yourself. In one sense this is the keynote of every life on the planet, all the time, but there's something special going on for you now. It's an 'old growth' process having a new growth spurt. It all may seem more annoying than trees growing or flowers blooming in the spring, but then, you may also have some false idea that it's really other people who are so scary. But this is all as natural as trees, and you're the scary one -- to you.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Your life is calming down, but it's certainly a lot different than it was just one short month ago. Different, as in a lot better -- I hope. I also hope you've learned some of the tricks of making it better, which wasn't just about some very fortunate astrology coming your way. It was about using all your circumstances as opportunities to improve your life, and doing so when you got the message that it was time for change. You did have cosmic help, though, and that help hasn't gone anywhere. It's right where you need it.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)
On some level, you really do get it that you're an important person in the lives of those around you, but puzzling evidence seems to suggest, occasionally but enough to make you wonder, that you don't really matter at all. However, this is not an issue about which much confirmation is available from the outside. Not now, anyway. You personally have to decide which is true, and act as if: as if you don't matter, or as if you do. Then the world will meet you on your terms.

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sep. 22)
So where were we? Ah yes, we were reading or was it thinking or was it solving all the problems of the world at once, down to the last detail? A certain set of circumstances in your home, however, are now demanding your attention again. They keep doing this and it never seems to matter that you devote your entire being to them. But I suggest that if you give this situation one last attempt at resolution, you will see the realest change yet.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
It's time to get out of the house, especially if you work at home. Business often demands that we keep our focus, and at other times demands that we get out into the world and be amongst people. You now have a rare chance to seek and find certain valuable ideas, contacts and opportunities if you go out of your door. But more to the point, they will have the occasion to find you.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
This is no ordinary time in your life, and I hope you've noticed that. With Scorpios, the transformations usually get piled five deep anyway, but this one trumps them all. The name of the tune is AWARENESS -- of your desires, your beliefs, and above all, sense of your true worth. You are in the midst of some kind of experience where everything -- all of it -- hinges on your sense of your own value, be it in cash, in principle or both.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
If you can't charm or finesse your way through some important situation, you just need more rest. We get along with people better after a good night's sleep. Your political skills are sharp now, but you're being confronted with an overload which may be burning you out or eating up your time. Planning is essential, which means being prepared with the facts; but it also means getting the proper nourishment. And remember, if it all seems like a game, it ain't.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
Having successfully endured some unusual circumstances, perhaps even threats to your sanity, earlier in the month, you are clear of any danger. But you would be wise to consider just what happened, how it happened, and why, because a number of factors are still in place that can lead to a similar situation in the future. And they can be dealt with through long-term planning and what you might call a fear management program. Fear gets in the way of all kinds of very good things; enough is enough.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
When we go through a long series of intense experiences, it's reasonable to expect people to be a little shell-shocked. So to my thinking it's within normal range if you're wondering when things are going to go batty again. But in fact a great deal has changed since the days when one thing after another went wrong one day after another, and the most dangerous energy you now face is your own reluctance to relax into the flow of the universe. It is possible to say the words, but to slip into the cosmic stream and move with the changes is another thing altogether. It is possible, however.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
There's been a great deal of action in your career house all year long, but have there been corresponding changes? Much of the energy has been coming from Chiron, which the great astrologer Al Morrison dubbed the "inconvenient benefic" planet. You've had your share of inconveniences and setbacks, and you've had more occasions than usual when you fell from a cliff and landed softly in the pillow of the universe. But the inconveniences have yet to show you their true gifts. Have a little faith; a little is all it takes.++
