Moving right along... that was a mighty interesting New Moon Wednesday, was it not? Speaking of the Moon... Mama Luna appears in the 15th degree of Libra in the chart for the crash of Flight 587. (For refernece, the Moon passes through each degree of the zodiac for about two hours per month, one time. ) This incident, seemingly unrealted to everything else in the known world, in which an airplane kind of decomposed in the sky three minutes after takeoff, bears a remarkable astrological signature. The Moon appears in the very degree that was rising in the crash of Flight 11 on Sept. 11, where Mercury was at the same moment (see Mercury Also Rises). Not only that, but it's one degree from the midheaven, known as "angular," or extremely prominent. This was the very degree the Sun occupied on the day we went to war against Afghanistan (see Why does the Moon?). And it was the very degree where Mercury stationed direct a few weeks ago, after a Regtrograde that points us straight back to the astrology of the botched presidential election last year (note both articles).

The outer world would seem to deny that there is any connection between a seemingly random plane crash and all of these other facts, but the Moon pointing to all those other charts does make one wonder, if one is inclined to do so. Note that this same week, the truth about the election became known and nobody cared, the Taliban fled Kabul, and (at some point in here) we saw the release of the 5,000-person-long list of people who entered the country in the past two years, all of whom will be visited by federal agents; and Monday or so, we saw the release of a second list, a blacklist, of 5,000 people and businesses allegedly associated with alleged terrorists. Mr. Bush, in his wisdom, determined that those allegedly linked to alleged terrorists are to get military trials, not civil trials, where they have far fewer rights. Mr. Ashcroft had previously determined, furthering the cause of democracy, that the government can listen in on calls between the accused (or merely detaind, as the case may be) and their lawyers, in violation of the long-standing practice of attorney-client confidentiality, which dates back to Elizabethan England. This was shot down by somebody, probably a Judge who had heard of England. That is one busy week.

At the end of the first quarter, it's Bush 93, the public, 1. A sure winner! George, the faithful are praying for you.

The Division Bell

Sign dates below are approximate. They now overlap by one day -- this is the day the Sun changes signs in 2001. The date and time of the Sun's ingress to the new sign changes a little each year, so check with an astrologer if you want the exact positition of your Sun. The reason for this is that our calendar is still not accurate, or rather, natural.

Aries (March 20-April 21)
You are balanced in a delicate place, because you're surrounded by enormous power, which is available to help you. Most people make the mistake of thinking that their thoughts and actions don't affect the world, when in reality the fact that we exist at all means we exist in relationship to the world and all its energetic forces. How these forces respond to you is now purely a matter of how and what you think, and most of all, what you decide.

Taurus (April 21-May 20)
Someone is trying to tell you something. It is one of those somethings that is really, really obvious but which is also veiled in a few levels of seeming obscurity. No, wait: obscurity, or denial? Complexity, or taboo? Is this something you think you're afraid of, or what you know you really want and need? There's a lot you can do to make your life more fulfilling. In particular, be direct, and listen directly.

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
If you pass up your current opportunities to make money through your good works, I am going to stop writing Gemini horoscopes. Now, you're probably more inclined to respond to something other than a threat, and I know that cashing in on your talent is loaded with all kinds of baggage about not wanting to take advantage of others and how your nurturing is supposed to be free and after all people helped you. In the immortal words of Gemini Paul McCartney, Yeah Yeah Yeah.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Risk is opportunity. It's not risk that's really perceived in this world as dangerous, but rather creative potential. Risks we take all the time: everything from driving a little (or a lot) drunk to getting on airplanes. But the real issue is the fact that, being human and moreover, being alive, you have the power to create. To create means that you must take responsibility for that creation, which means taking responsibility for changing the world. Go for it.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)
While you're not out of the woods yet, you're headed in the right direction, but I must say your particular forest is looking pretty lush. So what's the rush? Well, maybe you have the sense that you're avoiding something. It's something that you have previously found in your inner world, which is now appearing in your outer world in a tangible, powerful form, and waiting to meet you face-to-face for a real exchange of insight. There's no reason why you have to lose your inner focus in order to do this.

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sep. 22)
The challenge is to keep investing in yourself. You're good at this, but please don't let that stop you from succeeding. I also sense that you're angry about something you feel you don't have the right to be angry about, and are trying to rationalize with your socially-conscious nature. However, if you deny your anger, you also deny your strength, and if you do that, more of your excellent effort will have been for nothing than you can afford to lose.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
The current challenge is a decision about whether to hold on or to let go. This is extraordinarily complicated, and the emotions involved are wrought with all kinds of contradictory passions. Isn't life grand? I mean it. This is the human experience, the inner journey to wholeness, the sense of appreciation in giving up, the sense of value in not having, and the sense of awareness brought on by conflict, desire, urgency, and necessity. Yum.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
There are some directions that appear to be open, and some that appear to be blocked. This is a conceptual trap. The seemingly blocked directions are the ones that are the most challenging and which will provoke you to action no matter what. The seemingly open ones are those that you're most likely to take for granted or avoid, but they hold tremendous opportunity. In actual fact, every way is open, if you notice, if you make conscious decisions and most of all, if you're willing to meet people on your own terms.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
As I may have written in another horoscope somewhere, there's a lot going on behind the scenes that is due to emerge in the not-so-distant future. You may be discouraged by a decision someone has made to withhold something from you recently, but in reality, this restriction is compelling you to look in other directions for what you need. And what you need is diversity, not, by the way, commitment. You may not agree, but as I said, a few huge bits and pieces of reality are about to emerge over the next couple of weeks, which will rather pleasantly change your mind.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
You have endured another test, which was something of a theoretical exercise. Now comes the practical. The test of theory involved what gets done to you; the practical involves what you do to the world. Capricorn is such an interesting mix of yin and yang, of active and passive, of putting forth and taking in. All in all, I would say that you're the most likely to resist what you perceive as aggression, when all you are really doing is making your energetic mark on the world around you. Don't worry, you're not aggressive, unless, of course, you force yourself to be passive, in which case it percolates out in weird and yucky ways.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
Recent planetary movement has turned your personality into a kaleidoscope, and you're now shifting from one image and color of light to another very different one. This is all an inner swirl and the energy within swirls to the surface, which it's about to do with rather intense force. It has been said that it's not a good idea to sneeze with your mouth closed, because otherwise the pressure backs up in your sinuses and skull. I suggest you apply this somehow to your whole life.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)

If you have not noticed the increase in energy and the sense of flow since the Sun entered Scorpio a few weeks ago, I suggest you pay attention, because there is a lot available to you for the asking and for the seeking. Now, the Sun moves onto Sagittarius in about a week, and while you may think you'll be out of your element with the Sun in a fire sign, Sagittarius is your career sign, and Scorpio is the hot, powerful running start on the way there.
